Medical question: Can Propecia cause birth defects?

I’m considering to take the drug called propecia which is an oral tablet and is intended to stop male pattern hair loss.

I need to know if this drug can change the sperm in men and cause diasbility in children or any kind of birth defecencies or or complications that it may cause if a man who is taking it (without his partner taking the tablet) is also intending to have kids later on in life.

Are there any studies/experiences in this regard?

PS: the drug has been around since 1998.
